wp-content/endurance-page-cache/_index.html

All you have to do is rename the file “endurance-cache-plugin.php.old” or whatever you want.

How To Disable wp-content/endurance-page-cache/_index.html In Hostgator And Probably Other Hosting Companies

How many of you have wp-content/endurance-page-cache/_index.html show up on your WordPress blog or site? I started happening on this site a couple months ago, I said to myself, What The Fuck is that? I did a little research and found one site that said to disable it in the WordPress admin area in Settings >>General>>at the bottom. I did that and it did nothing.

I researched it a bit more and it seems that a lot of hosting companies add a plugin called “endurance-cache-plugin”. I read on another blog that said it’s in the plugins folder and that you had to rename it and add a blank file…huh? That’s not quite true though. It is in a folder called mu-plugins.

Inside that folder is a file called “endurance-cache-plugin.php” I called Hostgator Tech Support and they new what the problem was right away because a lot of people must be calling about it. All you have to do is rename the file “endurance-cache-plugin.php.old” or whatever you want.

Then you’ll notice above the “mu-plugins” folder there’s a folder named “endurance-page-cache”, inside there is an html file name “_index.html” I also renamed that to “_index.html.old”

You can read more about the problem on Stack Overflow

I tried 301 Redirecting wp-content/endurance-page-cache/_index.html

I attempted to 301 redirect them that, but that didn’t do anything except screw my site up. If you don’t know how to 301 redirect a url, if you’re not familiar with that term or not familiar with .htaccess files, I strongly advise you to not mess around with it. I know how to do those things and it prevented my site from loading. I must have done it incorrectly.

At the same time, I have to say, don’t be afraid to do things like this, because that’s how you learn. Just be smart about it and back things up…or just call tech support to be sure. If you’re going to mess around with your .htaccess file, make sure you download a copy, save it as a back up, then use a copy of that to work on. Then research what you want to do. Do it, upload it and check your site. If it gets screwed up, then just upload the back up file.

At first I started thinking someone was screwing my site because of my last post about Joe Biden saying “Nigger” in a speech he gave. With all the censorship going on the the media cover-up of the president-reject, the commander in thief and his obvious dementia, I thought, somebody was upset with my Love of the 1st Amendment…The man is in serious cognitive decline.
